Veneers are very thin “shells” made of porcelain ceramic materials. They are meant to cover up the fronts of your teeth and can hide imperfections like tooth chips, discoloration, gaps between your teeth, and much more.
They are very popular due to their versatility, durability, and natural appearance. If you want to transform your smile in Cookeville, TN with veneers, Dr. Taylor is here to help. Contact us to schedule a cosmetic consultation now.
Veneers have a lot of great benefits. The most obvious is that they boost your self-confidence and self-esteem. You’ll feel great about how you look, and you’ll be able to smile, eat, and speak without feeling embarrassed.
Veneers also look and feel completely natural, and do not require any special care. You can just brush and floss normally. They also can easily last 10-15 years, and are completely stain-resistant, so your smile will stay beautiful for years to come.
Wondering what to expect from the veneer treatment process? Find out now!
To begin, Dr. Taylor will need to examine your mouth and determine if veneers are right for you.
Once you’ve been approved for veneers, you’ll come in for another appointment. Dr. Taylor will clean and numb the treatment area, then remove a thin layer of enamel from your teeth. Next, she’ll take impressions and images of your smile.
Your smile information will be sent to a dental lab where your porcelain veneers will be built. You’ll be sent home with a temporary set of plastic veneers to protect your smile.
When your final set of porcelain veneers arrive at our office, usually after about 2-3 weeks, you’ll come back for your last appointment. Dr. Taylor will remove your temporary veneers, clean your teeth, and then permanently bond your new porcelain veneers into place.
Brush twice a day for two minutes, floss once each day, and make sure to come to Dogwood Family Dental to see Dr. Taylor for a teeth cleaning and oral exam every six months.
Avoid chewing ice, almonds, popcorn kernels, and other foods with your veneers. You also should never chew non-food objects like pencils, pens, fingernails, or any other items.
You should never use your veneers or your natural teeth to rip tape or paper, open packages, or for anything other than eating. Doing so can damage them.
